Why The Pokemon Special Manga WON'T be Animated

In today's video i'm gonna be throwing away all the Hopium and start accepting the truth on how the Pokemon special manga will never get an anime adaptation or at least a main series one.

This is most certainly never gonna happen but it would be a dream come true if they let kusaka help write the anime. The anime doesent need to be pokespe, if its simply just as good as pokespe

Tsunekazu Ishihara, the CEO of The Pokemon Company once said, that the best thing about the Pokemon franchise is the multitude of media, among which fans who already know games will find something new and it will be completely different experience than what that fans have known so far.
If that's really their attitude then it's no wonder they just don't want to adapt this manga.
They want to keep this manga in its form to preserve its uniqueness.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I really want to watch the moment where Giovanni saved his son from being badly burned. Also I think that there could be a tiny chance they could make it a separate timeline to do it. They also should hire Studio Bones or Mappa to animate it just in case Nintendo decides to make the anime happen. Who knows? Maybe they'll change marketing plans??

That’s a good point. As much as we’d love it to get a spin-off side series, the key to those is that they were short, and unfortunately special/adventures just has far too much content at this point to get away with being a one-time side thing.

I'd love for there to be a Pokemon Adventures anime it's my favorite iteration of the Pokemon story from the games but that dream sadly died a long time ago

Yooo there's a chance we could get an adaptation in thE future cuz of pokemons new partnership with Netflix and them specifically saying in the direct yesterday,
"We are dedicated to adapting fan favorite stories and MANGA"!!

I adore the manga, anime, and games. I have fond memories of reading pokemon special online in late middle school and early high school back in 2008 and 2009. I was a bit annoyed by the english releases of the manga censorship.

I hope that it gets anything at this point, the story of adventures is very close to being peak for me and if the thing that stops it from being known on a far larger scale is horizons then I will be, more critical of it to say the least.

This might be my copium talking, but if the rumors of Netflix's live action Pokémon series being based on Red's journey are true, then I hope they take heavy inspiration from the Pokespe manga.

People used to say this about Jojo, until it finally did get animated, so I'll continue to huff my hopium thank you very much.

In all seriousness, though, the key would be that some one would need to see the series as one which could be successful in its own right, like a new IP, and invest in it hoping for it to be its own success independant from whats happening in the games, because your 100% correct that it would no longer work as game tie-in, and thus wouldn't be able to get the financial backing from the pokemon company to use it as advertising. And starting from anywhere but the beginning I feel like would be a huge disservice to the series, given how interconnected most of it is. Personally I think a short "special series" would also do it a disservice. Maybe it'd be better then nothing... but maybe not if it rushed through things, spoiling stuff, and there by killing any hope of a real full adaption some day.
