I noticed that 2 or 3 people were confused in the comments with the first problem where he canceled 9 instead of 12, so to make it clear, I did the problem 2 ways: first by canceling 9 (the way Mr. J showed us) and second by canceling 12, so these both got the same answer: if we cancel the denominator 12, we end up with 4, and we also canceled the denominator 5, and that ended up with 1, and now we multiply the three denominators: 4x1 is 4 and 4x9 is 36, so technically you can do both ways and you'll get the same answer.

I'll say it again: The adage "Less is more" was created for instructors like Mr. J, because he delivers solutions in only a few minutes of what usually takes 1-2 hours of confused instruction by a teacher in class. I'm amazed and ever so grateful for the ease of comprehension Mr. J provides. He is a blessing!
