Actually just recently went to Galaxy's Edge and built a droid of my own. It was a blast and I had a lot of fun doing it, 10/10 would recommend. I do have some words of advice for others if you plan on building one.

1.) SAVE YOUR MONEY!!! The droids themselves cost 120$ + tax. If you want to get a personality chip for the droid, the chips themselves cost 15$ + tax (making it a total of 135$ for both the droid and the chip)

2.) BEWARE THE B SERIES!!! They're 3 series of droid types you can choose when building a droid:
R-Series (like R2-D2)
C-Series (like Chopper)
B-Series (like BB-8)
The B-Series are really hard to control as they are EXTREMLY wobbly. Once you get used to the controls, they can be really fun to play with however, so get what series you'll like the most!

3.) The Droid Depot Bag shown in the video is 60$ + tax and does not come with the droid. You would have to buy it separately. You do however get a free Droid Depot cardboard box that you can put your droid in. So the bag isn't necessary unless you want some style points.

4.) They're 3 types of personality chips you can get for your droid:
Resistance (friendly)
Scoundrel (a little mean)
First Order (rip your head off type of mean)
Choose whatever chip you'll like for your droid!

5.) If you control your droid around Galaxy's Edge (if you got a personality chip for it), It can interact with places within Galaxy's Edge. Depending on what side you got (Resistance or First Order), it will interact with places that correspond with that side.

Please, PLEASE, never get a BB-Series. They wobble back and forth when you move them, they are slower than C and R series, and you cant hear the audio well because its inside the ball.

That driving mat didn't exist the last time I was at Galaxy's Edge. Is that new? I was there in January 2021. We had a really good time with our droid. We took it back to our resort and the grandkids ran it around for hours!

I had got the blue and red BB, with the backpack and 3 chips. Really cool! It is worth the price.

I didn’t put a personality chip in mine because I didn’t know where they were. My droid is probably one of few that makes the default noises, though others still could if the chip is taken out.

Get the bundel. It gives you the activity, a backpack, and a personality chip of your choice. Definitly more convenient. I'm talking about the one in California, not Walt Disney world. Not sure that changes anything.

I haven’t been to galaxy’s edge yet. But when I go, I’ll build my own droid and after I get it assembled and tested, I’ll use it to mess with the First Order.

What kind of battery to recharge them?
