Schools in Singapore will suspend the use of the Zoom video-conferencing platform. The Education Ministry said this in response to queries from CNA, after reports surfaced that hackers had allegedly hijacked live-streaming of lessons. MOE said it is investigating breaches and will lodge a police report if warranted. It has reiterated to teachers the security measures they must adhere to when using video-conferencing platforms, such as the use of secure log-ins, and not sharing the meeting link beyond the class. It added that it is also working with Zoom to enhance its security settings.

Zoom has been banned by Taiwan goverment and US schools over security concerns. And tada the security issues still persist. Should we move to Microsoft Teams?

Parents of affected children, your child had been exposed to indecent material and may suffer trauma and distress. This is harmful to their mental health and may have long term implication. You can sue MOE for negligence and harm done onto your children.

Use kaltura and link videos to blackboard. Use zoom sparingly for QnA or tutorials. Was in a zoom class for UQ when some ameritard barged in our zoom session.

I saw this coming long ago. The easiest thing for hackers to do is get on the mailing list/convince teachers that they belong to the class.

Hackers please go to do some soul searching. Children are innocent. Why punish them. Please everyone in the world are suffering. Leave children alone.
