one feature i think would be awesome is to not just have a house, but an estate where you can have crops to attend to for housing resources, or additional housing like a mount stable where you can place mounts you unlocked that can be viewed by guild members, and if guild members doesn't have those mounts, they can click those mount to mount them up and use them as long as you don't demount

Lotro had an amazing housing system you paid upkeep could store items in chests, decorations locked behind rep, achievements(deeds) and rng items like bear statues you got from drops and visited a taxidermist to make into just overall a ton of stuff and was also a guild house which was massive

Blizz would have to have a dedicated team just for this permanently. To keep up with future patches and expansions... I love it tho! I'm a huge fan of housing in MMOs but I dont see them doing this or anything like it anytime soon! :(

Maybe just me but I think a guild hall system as the central point of a town with player housing built on that would be a cool way to go. You and your guild can set up shops and various town sort of amenities.

Lord of the Rings Online has housing. It isn't bad nice that you can use it for extra storage for all your characters to access.

In my opinion, Runescape did housing very well. It was a massive gold sink, very customizable, and offered amazing QoL (quality of life) to those who wished to use this housing feature. It offers teleports to all over, teleports to the house, the ability to view or use any QoL that other houses had inside them. If you didn't have the level, you could enter someone's house that did have the level, and would create quite a community based on these houses. I would love to see WoW add housing in classic or retail. I am not a fan of the weekly taxes idea and more of a fan of there being useful things to do inside the house that increase QoL which would act as gold sinks themselves.

Another thing that would be cool is if you could find all of your characters on your account just chilling in your house! You could show them all off to players who visit you.

Ultima Online had the best housing system, literally place your house where ever you liked and put what ever items in it you wanted, where ever you wanted them.

I wish we could have player housing so much! Just a simple instanced zone that we can use magic to show whatever area we want (forest, desert, snow etc to reflect zones, with backgrounds of buildings like iron forge or org in the distance). Then we could build/decorate inside a prefab house from in the world already existing, without having a housing crisis of location (instance version being able to accommodate millions of players). Also there’s so many dodads in the game we could be crafting with the new professions - every one of them could make stuff to decorate with (alchemy pots/fires, cooking to put food out, leather working for hides rugs, tailoring for tapestries, armor display dummies, blacksmithing for tables and metal items, inscription for papers and scrolls, so many ideas! That’d help with casual and hardcore content (rp, pets walking around, mounts standing around in a stable) but make it with trophies of heads or weapons/Armour on show, sitting on chairs etc.

It doesn’t need to be anywhere you craft items, as I know they were worried we’d spend all our time in the house. But purely for fun and our enjoyment, rather than it having any advantage over another player. This way it can be expanded over time, patches and expansions so it doesn’t get left behind like so much of the previous ones. ❤

Also be able to visit random players or friends houses, and have a guestbook so we can leave a thumbs up if we like it. And be able to leave the house open to visitors while offline.

Maybe have friends with permissions so they can decorate or give items they crafted.

Just have a look at palia, eso, ffxiv, eq2, wild star, so many other games too, they have great housing. Take the good parts and not the troubling parts and you’ll have a winning strike there 🙂 Please don’t make it a one-expansion thing. Expand on it, then we’ll feel like we can invest time in it and it won’t go away. ❤

Remember the time when most people played just to be in game it wasn't always about meta gaming and being the best just hanging out I miss that player housing done rite could bring it back

To add to that ESO con you are almost made to get there ESO plus just to double your house decoration size and as someone that has spend tons of $$$ getting all the houses, mounts, etc it never gives you enough space for them.

In almost every mmo ever houses serve no purpose for players except role players.
You decorate the house then never visit it again.
But it doesn't have any downside so I wouldn't care if it was added.

Imagine how cool it should be if we could create quest for other players inside our houses.

Side Note: Star Wars Galaxies was WAY ahead of it's time in regards to housing, resources, crafting and player economy. It's too bad they couldn't get combat right.

I've wanted to have a house in Ashenvale since 2005 👀 used to RP that I had a house there and hold guilding meetings there 😅

I honestly dont think player housing specifically is what wow needs or most mmos in general. They often become what the WoD garrison was and takes away from what "main cities" are. A place where people go to resupply, buy and sell items and sit when they are bored or want to show off what they have. On the other hand having a guild house where you can show off statues or banners or other cool valuables to show your achievements and what your guild has accomplished would be cool. For example getting a title for your character and a specific statue or portrait to place in the guild house, where if you invite people to look around in that guild house they can see how accomplished your team is and how fancy it has become through advances and upgrades. Like, in wow we have the guild bank and you ammass gold after a while. Why not use that gold to upgrade a guild house to different tiers based on guild achievements. Otherwise its just going to end up removing people from the main cities and leave them barren. Just like in WoD where people would end up sitting in their garrison instead of the main city.

I played during vanilla launch thru Panda whatever. The lack of housing was one of the reasons I quit. You always feel like a tourist in a theme park. No space is your space. Nothing makes you feel like your efforts matter in that world. Much like this world actually, but at least we get our own homes!

Garrisons were NOT housing.

We couldn't decorate.

I want to design my own blood elven palace with modular pieces.
