This news story is so vague that it leaves you with more questions than answers.
It's not about doing a review, that is the scam.

What happens is there's a QR code on the product that they want you to scan with your phone and as soon as you do that they're getting information from your phone including banking information and social media information.
Just keep the product, donate it, throw it away, sell it. Just don't scan any QR code with your phone.
