This is, without a doubt, the best scene in the entire film! And just imagine how long it took to film this scene! With all the costumes, the choreography, the extras, the music, the set designs, and this being only 7 minutes out of a 4-hour long film, I mean, come on, it’s no wonder why this film very nearly bankrupted 20th Century Fox Studios! But even after nearly 60 years, it’s still a classic film that was an investment well worth spent!

Terrible musical score for this film....It never matches the drama...the emotions....the majesty and grandeur we see....what an opportunity lost. Apparently all the money went into the visual and little was left to employ a more accomplished composer. I would like to hear what the great film composer of that era would have done....Michell Legrand...Demitri Tiomkin....Nino Rosi....Enrico Morricone...Miklos Rosas....and Alfred Newman....all Oscar nominees and winners.
