You basically change what frecuency can resonate better with your antena. Only such frequency can be heard so that we can emit a lot of information by different channels without interferences. It's hard to explain how awsome this is. There would be no internet without we having the ability to comunicate information through waves and more importantly, having the ability to do so with tons of information through different channels. Imagine if only one song could be hear in an entire area due to interferences
