Triangular relationships that cause disruption within families
Показать описание
Have you ever felt the odd one out when members of your family are stuck together but without you? Maybe you feel ignored, invisible or unwanted. It's not unusual for a father to feel excluded when he comes home from work or a business trip to find he can't get into the tight triangle formed by mom and two kids. Alternatively the kids can glue themselves to dad when he's home and mom feels left out and insignificant. Often one child will be getting a lot of attention from both parents when sick, having a problem or because it's his/her's birthday. Then the other sibling feels left out of that threesome.
These triangles are disruptive and unhealthy because the parental unit has not developed a strong union of safety and security and use the kids to get affection, feel proud of themselves and get endorsed as "good".
This video describes how a family of 4 jolts from one awful triangle to another and talks about shifting this turbulent and unhappy interaction pattern.
