Very excited that the Omega Equinoxe I ordered very recently off eBay arrived a day early. Had to share a quick look at the watch - which will be featured in my proper forthcoming video on my favourite digital watches of all time. This is Omega’s 1981 answer to the JLC Reverso complete with digital LCD screen.

An artefact from the times of quartz crisis I presume, when even companies like Omega and Rolex produced quartz pieces.
But of course, after some time, they lost motivation for quartz, because dumb people pushed for obsolete mechanical technology... and no one really knows why.
And now they just produce always the same bad quality museum watches and charge 1000% more for them.

Sometimes I ask myself how the watch industry would be different, with masses of new models and innovations based on superior quartz technology, competing for the market.
But humanity is just dumb. And that's the reason we can't have good things.

VERY COOL THIS OMEGA EQUINOX MODEL, SEEMS INSPIRED BY ONE OF THOSE MODELS THAT APPEARED IN 007 . I LIKE . ITS REVERSIBLE DESIGN MAKES IT MORE ORIGINAL .
