My story: my voice was very loud and beautiful. I grew up singing soprano with my youth choir and as a young adult in a praise team at church... Became a mom for the first time, once I finally gave birth to my daughter I made a visit to my church. I stood to sing the worship songs and surprised because my voice was hoarse. I kept trying, but It was so scratchy that I immediately closed my lips. Some say that my voice is passed onto my kids (typical thoughts). From then on I would try to practice and got it back... 2 years ago, I meet a guy who I'm sure was hand pick for me and I mentioned my singing experiences. So he asked me to sing and it didn't come out right. I haven't allowed myself to sing for anyone again. It's been 16 years and I'm praying to get it back.

I took a two year break. I’m currently 15 years old, and was given the ok to re sign up for a play at our local church (the productions are huge and we usually sell 9k tickets a year.) Due to Covid I had stopped participating. My first show was in 2017 and then stopped in 2020. This year I’m going to be auditioning again, but my voice is pretty out of shape. I found this super helpful, so thank you! Wish me luck 😭😂

I grew up singing in church, like most people. I’m not a big fan of music but I like singing. When Covid struck I used that time to learn to sing. One day I randomly stopped singing and then got told I sung tennor. Singing it doesn’t feel right and I feel as if I lost my voice.

I relate I got into singing on my mission. When i came home studied with lessons for two years auditioned for degree at university and got in i became a tenor and sang with opera New Zealand for 5 years a chorus member and I conducted a choir for the Prophet Pres Gordon B Hinkley. I learned therapeutic singing practices at uni also and learned the value of falsetto to repair the voice as well.

I have always had a love for singing and music and had dreams of being a big singer and song writer, making it out there in the world, but I’m 14 soon 15 and those dreams are fading because I haven’t been able to sing all that well, BUT I haven’t given up yet! I will keep trying to achieve this dream, it’s all I’ve ever wanted

on top of social distancing making my voice classes nigh impossible, i was sick back in january of this year, not with covid but with something that made me cough like crazy (my poor vocal folds!), for a whole month, and almost completely lost my singing voice! this guide was just what i needed to help get my voice back, thank you so much for posting it <3

My current problem is that have added too much staccato to everything- even the simple nay nay nay. I don’t know why and I can’t seem to stop it. I also seem to have a dead spot in my lower range. My range had been tested to be C3 to A6 but I don’t know what it is now🤷🏻‍♀️. All I do is critique myself while singing now; it’s just not a fun place to be 🥺

my story :

ever since i was a kid, i've always loved to sing. my favorite thing to watch on our television is a show called “ the voice kids ” and i always imagine singing and winning the judges attention. we have a karaoke in our house, and me and my dad loves to wake our family up to our voices. my dad's family is full of singers, and i think that's why i love to sing. then, when i was on elementary my classmates loved my voice and i just sing on stage and win an award. alot of people admire me, and my mom got me into a voice lesson. i improved, and when i was in highschool i compete again and won. but pandemic happened, i stopped singing and now i regret it and have a horrible voice. not horrible actually, but not that good anymore:(

After not singing for quite some time, I am trying to get my voice back in shape. I have a thyroid condition (hypothyroid). Considering this, can I proceed with vocal exercises the same as I did before my thyroid condition, or are there precautions that I should take?
