I'm a fresh immigrant from East Europe to the U.S. The other day I was working the same shift with a guy that works as a driver for the same company I work for. He's Jamaican... the nicest guy you can ever meet. And while he was playing some Reggae music in his car and I asked him if he could suggest me some cool Reggae artists other than Bob Marley. Before you know, the whole conversation shifted about the Rastafari movement and their beliefs, about Haile Selassie, and why Bob Marley is so iconic in Jamaica. I didn't know much about the topic, other than what is public knowledge I was pretty ignorant the culture. But my co-worker painted a broad insider's picture of it to me. Pretty fascinating, I wanna know more about it!

This is the beauty of Rastafari. I and I all say H.I.M is the nucleus of our spiritually and philosophy. I don't agree that he is Christ incarnate but I still connect with the I through the acknowledgement of the divinity and that is the inity of the movement. One love. Blessings!

I'm a mixed kid born in Reno, Nevada lived there since i was 13 been through so many stuff had no father he left when i wasn't even bore my mom drinking been hit and threatened at by her. Been giving my mom a lot of stress and a lot to deal with and making my sister get scared whenever me and my mom argue i hate it. As a kid when i was 12 my cousin Ronnie passed I was so hurt because i loved him and looked up to him. After he passed i had hate and anger i didn't care about what people thought about me or what they wanted to know about me. Started to sell marijuana a lot and drank a lot as a kid because around that time i already lost 4 friends and I didn't care. Now i'm 16 about to turn 17 in October been listening to Bob Marley my whole life that's how i got my name Zion also from Lauren hill and the meaning of Zion. When I was listening to Bob Marley the song Selassie is the chapel it got me to me tears i want to learn more about the Rastafarian movement because i believe in it and it gives me love and happiness. I listen to reggae music and praying to Jah every night and morning and every time before i smoke ganja i don't drink alcohol no more when i get done with my GED i want to go to barber school and be a barber and make kids and men also women happy i give them a cut or locs also braiding i want to see that because that makes me happy and I want to be a Rasta and i want to learn more about it and be a Rasta because i believe in Haile Selassie and the African movement and i want to be at peace and love one another Jah king of kings his imperial majesty Jah Rastafari
