Bonsai Pruning - Spring Juniper Buds (1 Year Later)

In this video, we give a quick update on a Juniper tree in a 5 gallon can. Jason discusses the reason why cuts were made last year and the new growth that emerged during that time. Thanks for this, Jason. I'm probably not the only amateur who has a juniper he brought home from a nursery, and now I'm trying to gauge how long the development will take, what I can expect to see, what I can hope for, etc.. It really helps to see what's possible.

Thank you I'm really enjoying my rock juniper it's amazing how much it has grown with and only 7 days from out of box. I've been watching videos reading books I have owned one in the past but I'm brushing up and your videos have been quite helpful. I'm a little sketchy on pruning though cut in between the scales if I'm not mistaken I don't feel comfortable hacking a shoot off at its base???

I repotted this old but small juniper into a smaller square pot from this deep square pot, cleaned up the twisted roots and it looks great one day and shit the next. It’s in akadama and some mix volcanic soil anchored down. I’ve fed it some light nutrition with indoor outdoor light etc. but its just frail and the needles keep in some parts 😔 starting to think it’s going. Anyone have something I’m missing to help.
