I believe the conversation/ seating area is the MOST important factor when it comes to setting up the living room. Get the scale right, the proportions correct, choose the most comfortable support you can find and the rest will come easy. Agree or disagree?

Julie please do a 5 things every entryway needs video! I am torn between putting a long bench vs a console table in my limited entryway space!

Since we're all interested in design, obviously we're visual learners. You give us several pictures of examples like no one else. Thank you for taking the time to research and put these videos together for us. We not only see what you are referring to, but also the many different design styles. Thank you! 🥰

I totally agree with your list! Thank you!
I think that ambient lighting needs more attention than just a quick mention. I also have a feeling that many would benefit from an episode on how to style that TV focal point which I’m sure is the very common arrangement in most homes.

interior design has always been a passion of mine. I remember as a little girl dreaming of redesigning my moms house and becoming a fabulous designer. Although I don’t design for pay, ID is still an obsession of mine. When I’m not working or with my family I’m doing research. I have learned SO much from you. So much. And because of that I have the most fabulous house in the neighborhood 😆 (a work in progress but still fab). I adore you Julie. Thank you so much!!! Perhaps I’ll book a design appointment with you… I have a few areas I’m stomped on

Happy Mother’s Day Julie!

After five years and three new puppies, last week I finally bought a 9 x 12 area rug for my living room which is a open concept living room, dining room, and kitchen area. It adds so much warmth and makes this house feel more like a home. Happy Mother’s Day Julie. Thank you for another fabulous video. Take care💕

Julie, you ara AHHHMAZING!

I love your channel, and you are, by far, the best "teacher" in Interior Design on youtube. Also like Norma Bates mentions, the pictures (with your explanations) makes it all so simple and easy to understand.
Congrats!!! Keep the great work!

I had to stop the video and just say THANK YOU for telling us the proper spacing for overhead lighting! I have been trying to pin down this piece of info. for years, and had never been able to find it! It has been the missing piece to me finishing a new design i am working on for my home. Thank you for always getting down to the nitty gritty on measurements! ❤❤❤

Another great video Julie! Even though I have overhead lights in my living room I seldom use them. I must prefer table or floor lamps. Much more intimate and easier to see or read by.

Way back when in 1984 the first thing I bought for my first apartment was a coffee table - because it was awesome. I still have it, its a hollywood regency rams head coffee table and I still love it. The second thing I bought was a sofa and the third was a rug. I don't have the sofa or the rug but will always have and treasure my showstopper of a coffee table. Back then I laughed that I did not have a couch but I had a coffee table!
