Hola!
To clarify costs mentioned in video: The costs we shared are the full cash price we paid for services...We do have private insurance for "catastrophic" events. This policy costs us $80/ month for us combined with $5K deductible ✌

Thank you for being vulnerable and sharing your experience. Wishing you continued healing!

My husband and I are planning to move to Ecuador in 1-2 years. I realized recently that if we have a significant health event it would be financially devasting to us. We probably wouldn't be able to leave the US. The affordable health care in Ecuador is one of the reasons why we are planning on moving. We just don't know when. Thank you for sharing!

Hello Kate and Matt. Kate, the wifey and I are glad that you are feeling better and happy that both Matt and Lucas have not gone nuts. (Pickles and I go to pieces whenever Emma gets sick). Best wishes and letting you know that we appreciate your video giving us an update.

So glad you're feeling better! Healthcare here is certainly different from the states.

Happy to see you are up and around and feeling better. So weird to not have one simple clear explanation but also good to have no serious lingering symptoms. Perhaps it was just a prompt for you to do a video about health care in Ecuador. 🤭🤭. Glad your care was thorough and you are feeling better.

You’ve mentioned intestinal parasites before. I’m originally from here but lived in the US forever, therefore my stomach isn’t accustomed to street food. I shop at the supermaxi most of the time and don’t have any issues almost a year later. Street food nah, nah nah for me. Hope you get better 😌

Holaaaa Kate, I'm glad you're feeling better. 👍Maybe you got one of those alien parasites who are trying to dominate the world. I saw that in a scifi movie, The Puppet Masters. I don't like the fact that ingesting parasites is considered " normal " in Ecuador. Stay healthy on the Fly my friend, 🌹🌻👍🌞💜🧡💛💚💚

The first two months the altitude kicked my butt but now I’m fine with oxygen levels up 96 on the average. Altitude does take adjustment and your body does it gradually

Thanks for the Info as always, so glad to hear that you both are doing much better. If this makes any sense whatsoever, I have been blessed to travel all over the World for years and even still sometimes don't feel 100% when I am at different Altitudes, temperatures etc, not that that will ever stop me. But sometimes when You are home ( the region You grew up in), your body knows the local water, the climate, the pollen levels, etc. It will never stop me from loving all the different wonderful places on our beautiful Earth. But I actually think there is some Science to it. Take care and be well
