My basic objection to Pascal's Wager argument is that I can't decide to MAKE myself believe something I don't believe. I can decide to fake it, read the bible, bend the knee, go to church, etc. But, if a God is so omniscient, wouldn't he/she be able to tell I'm a fraud?

When believers have replied with the Pascal's wager argument to me I have replied them with "What if you believe in the wrong god, you would have wasted this life and the eternal life".

Two things. #1, a person has no choice concerning what he does, or does not believe. It is all contingent on factors outside of the person's control. If I am instructed to believe with consequences for disbelief, that does not mean I will find a way to believe. #2, Pascal's Wager hinges on the notion that the God rewards belief and punishes disbelief, which if the god is rational _and_ compassionate, goes back to #1. That's it. Best I can determine, Pascal's Wager is doomed. Whatever other logical problems it has, #1 and #2 are sufficient.
