Finally canceled T-Mobile 5G Home Internet & returned device

I had switched back to Comcast with a way better package and price then I had but never did cancel my T-Mobile 5G Home Internet until now. Guess I was being hopeful it would get better. Now before everyone starts saying I had it in the wrong place or I needed to reboot it etc. I had it in a good spot by a window and my issue was without doing anything to it I would go from triple digit speeds to single digit speeds in the same day still having almost full bars. #shorts #tmobile #tmobile5g #tmobilehomeinternet

TM oversold this. If you don't live nearby a good tower it's not any good. Has a lot of promise but still has to be fixed.

i had spectrum cable internet for well over a decade and i hate them with a passion. they have traditionally had a monopoly in my rural town so they can charge whatever they want. we have been paying $80 per month. we have this internet bundled with our cell phones at $30 per month.

spectrum your outta here, go to hell. now im paying 1/3 and getting 175-200 MBPS.

it's a blessing t mobile is breaking the monoplies the cable companies have held for such a long time. now only if someone else would sell me electricity, natural gas, and trash pickup.

not not happy, im ecstatic elated and thrilled. FU spectrum

I got to experience tmobile 5g home internet last year and i loved it until i had to move and settle for another provider. I guess i dodged a bullet here because getting triple digits to single and then double with download speeds in one day definitely isn't stable service at all!

So even if their coverage finally reaches my area, chances are I'd start experiencing the same thing you did at some point. Still, i envy those who are able to get up to at least 500 Mbps. My current package with my current ISP is only 15 max unless i upgrade to the top package which will cost me about $100 for 50 Mbps.

Yeah, rural area living is a disadvantage for sure as far as getting good download speeds is concerned.

I had mine by a window and getting slow speeds, i moved it ontop of my cabinet and boom excellent signal..600 down and 150 up.. I love this internet in waterloo Iowa..

I have had mine for a year and the T-Mobile one is a beast! I get over 900MB/S down and 150 to 200 UPLOAD. Running all my home security systems and since it has a battery, when we have power outages or a single second outage; it will not reset the modem. Add a battery back up and your all good to go! I pay $50 no tax no BS no fees no Cap on data. Last month we used 2300GB of data 😂

I'm having the same problem but I thought it was just my area. Guess it's time for me to rethink!!! Thanks for the info.

Thanks for posting this. I'm not satisfied with the speed. I've had it for 5 days now and ready to take it back and go back to Comcast.

I think this has to do with too much people signing up and they can’t keep up with the demand. So when multiple people are using an Attena the speeds do down

I recently canceled for the same reason. As you say, the signal strength is fine, appears to be a capacity issue. T-Mobile has finite bandwidth for a geographic area and gives priority to cell phones, these factors combine to make their home internet speeds wildly inconsistent. Went back to cable internet where the speed almost never varies.

I had to turn my WiFi off just to watch this. I’ve had TMobile home internet since October 2022..had no issues at all..was getting great speeds!!! But these pst 2 months have been the worse. Horrible slow speeds even when I reset the gateway it still lags until it wants to cooperate again hours later

Great video! Totally agree this internet is not for everyone. My speed during the day is around 30 mbps Download. At night it doubles or even triples. I have a small apartment. I am able to run 2 smart tvs and a compture with no issues. And the best part I only pay $30 🎉😊.

The service is horrible.... I've moved it all over my house. Can't even see a whole movie without it freezing like 10 times. It's just really bad. T-Mobile needs to do better. Thanks for your input I thought it was just me

I got it yesterday and returning today. I have been with T Mobile for over 24 years. It was Voice Stream back in 1999. I know how to set up, but mine kept powering off. I said nope it is going back.

Thanks for advice. My 5G home internet is absolutely horrible. I tried everything they recommended even connecting computer via Ethernet ports. I will try a few more things and then cancel if nothing works. One poster said t-mobile over sold it. And certainly in my area they oversold it and probably should not have offered it. I wonder if DSL is still around.
