I thought you have to climb the mountain my jumping and trying to find a walkable path up xD. Didn't even know there was a stair way that you could just run up LOL.

it has been years since i played this, I've been feeling inadequate for getting lost ever since, today out of nowhere decided to look this up, I'm happy I'm not the only one who got lost, I'm not alone.

There's a bit shorter way to get to Ivarstead from Whiterun. You just need to pass near Whiterun stormcloack camp at the northern side of the Throat of the World and then ride up the mountain, following some sort of goat trail.
Although you still have to go that 7000 steps (actually less than a 1000 :) ). Did that on foot, btw, leaving a horse down in Ivarstead. Took around hour of realtime, including fighting 2 Ice Wraiths and this Frost Troll, of course. Took his soul as a prize :)

i encourage everyone to Take the stairs on foot and enjoy the skyrim scenery and take pictures. ice troll on the way up just say you're a tourist. lol 😂😂😂

If u just fast travel to Helgen and u load do a 180 degree turn and follow the road. It will take u directly to ivarsted. I wish I knew that before taking this route shown in the video.

Travel to Ivarstead and the steps to mountain is close by. you go over a cobble bridge I believe and the stairs are to your left.
