There's a new trend called D.I.N.K. Dual Income No Kids. It sounds great to live a life of fun and to be real, some people aren't made for kids. However, do we need to give up children to enjoy life? Also who will be there for you as you age? Is this a dangerous trend or does this matter at all?

I’ll be honest, had I not had kids when I did. I would’ve opted not to have kids because this world is so cruel and things are not getting better. It’s hard trying to raise children in this generation. I applaud anyone that has not decided not have kids. It’s not selfish at all.

I’m a S.I.N.K. Single income no kids. Lol.😂

If you are bringing children into this world just to be taken care of in your old age, then that is clearly selfish.

Well, private preschool for our daughter is $3400 per month. It’s absolutely ridiculous.

My wife and I were married for about 6 years prior to having kids. We have been around the world together and it started to get boring. Our daughter allowed us to experience everything from a new perspective. There is nothing more gratifying than being able to share experiences I wanted as a child, but my parents didn’t have the financial means to do so. Unfortunately, the DINK lifestyle works when you are younger, but you don’t get a second chance if time prevails. Good luck!

Some ppl get scared of losing thier sense of identity in serious relationships, marriages & in having children bc of how poorly others managed thier roles in said positions. Like you’ve stated balance is key

I’ve lost income while pregnant. Lost income while recovering from childbirth c section. Now I Can work but it’s not very much profit because childcare costs need to be paid. I still have medical bills from pregnancy to be paid off. The amount of doctor appts for a child under age 1 especially those first few months. Gotta miss work for those. Plus cooking and cleaning. The amount of diapers. And sleepless nights. Going thru formula cans or pumping breast milk for baby which is a whole job in itself. Nothing prepares you for this. Have as much support as you can that are actually going to come thru for you especially as a woman post partum. I agree that always drinking and going out wasn’t always my lifestyle either and isn’t all that.

Great subject, but we live in a time when our young adults can not see a great future for themselves, so thinking of having kids is not even something you can imagine. I see a lot of young couples and single parents who are struggling, and personally, I don't want that for my adult kids. The time we got our kids life was easier at all levels. I'm a Christian and I do believe God wants children but at the same time, I do think he wants us to have them in a good balanced environment. I pray every day for a better future.

Potentially Dangerous? lol. No. In this Modern Dating World; might be best for couples especially young couples couple to get all the "Fun" out the way then consider a child or 2. Having children is very expensive and I doubt that cost will go down anytime soon.

Jay, respectfully, your view will change when you become a father. Your take is very impracticable especially for small kids.

I don’t like when ppl say that it is meant for us to be fruitful and multiply. Some ppl can't conceive. Jesus didn't have kids, nor did Paul. Paul was a father figure. Additionally, God did not promise marriage to all, and we are not supposed to fornicate so...

The only people that use their kids as an excuse as to why they broke up are narcs. When children are young, they need both parents involved. Stop balming the kids because you are a jealous parent, or narc!

You can have kids and they not pay the parents any attention. You can’t have kids for your own security.

My wife of 27 years and I had all three of our children from the ages of 21 to 26 and they are all productive adults. I have accomplished lot and earn well. However, all the accomplishments are small in comparison to watching my children accomplish their own goals and different stages of life. I don’t see the purpose of marriage without children. But to each their own..

Another discussion I agree with you on. I'm middle aged with no children..but I help raise my little sisters and a few cousins..I got married later on in life. My husband and I want to foster children . I've always wanted to leave a godly legacy to a child or two..like you said as we get older. We are going to need someone to look after us when we get old..my parents will be dead and gone and his too. So I I don't believe in this DINK stuff. People like trends and fads that doesn't even make sense

To all those people in agreement with this no kids movement, imagine if your parents didnt have you or your siblings?

To me that is a sign of selfishness. You should want to share your money, love and affection with someone why not children even if you can adopt

Everything God says to do the world is doing the opposite. Men have become lovers of themselves.
God - be fruitfulness multiply
Us today- nah I'm good they're too expensive. But I'll get a dog that has human conditions and pay just as much to maintain the animal.😒
We shouldn't have children thinking they will take care us when we're older. We actually should be creating community amongst each other so that children or not we're not alone.

It is not a requirement for women to reproduce. God never gave that to us as a commandment, so there is no devil agenda to the childfree lifestyle.
Read Luke 23:28-29.
