Tested: 35's and No Lift for the Jeep Wrangler JK

Показать описание
If you want to run a large tire on your 4x4, it really helps to have a very large wheelwell. The 2007 to 2018 Jeep Wrangler JK platform has one the biggest wheelwells of any SUV ever produced. This allows you to squeeze on a significantly larger tire without a lot of work. To test out one of the most common questions we receive, we tossed on a set of 35x12.50R17 Nitto Ridge Grapplers on our 2017 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sport.

*** Note, We misspoke about the wheel backspacing. They have 4.75, not 4.50 as stated.

This is a very good video for people that are wanting to buy wheels for their jeep but don’t know sizes well I have a 37s now with shock upgrades but not a full lift

35", 18" Wheels, 3"lift - just did and that is the perfect set-up. May do a video....

I threw on 33” on a 2017 jk and the front wheel rubbed at full tilt. Had to install 1 1/2” spacers on all four, problem solved and it brought it out just beyond the fender edge. Mint!
Appreciate the video though

Speaking from experience with a 2015 2 Door and 35x12.50, off-road tilt works great. You’re going to hate anything other than bouncing around town. Long treks on the turnpike etc, you definitely want to accommodate different gears.

Kudos for covering all the tires! Thinking of getting bigger tires without a lift. Thank you for sharing.

Great video ! It is technically possible to have the 35 without a lift, but the conclusion of the video is that lifting is the right thing to do !

I perfer lift up. Make the jeep look even better. 35" and 2.5 lift is best. For both road and off road. Make jeep look bigger, tough look.

Thanks for the info! I have a 2.5” lift and wanted to upgrade from the 35” tire to a 37” and you answered that for me. And yes I do have the Rubicon model. Has anyone else done this? Would like to hear the thoughts!

I have 35in tires+Bilstein Shocks with spacers on my 08 Jeep and drive around town with no problem nice a smooth but as for going off road to play you need a lift kit you will rub even with my set up.

What about the scrub reduce angle not effect the handling, to go from stock 28.9" to 35" without any effect on handling or billing. To go to 35" without any problems what the recommended procedures in all 4x4 brands vehicles.

So far all videos talk about size fitting, almost none talk about stress on axles shafts. Specially if we refer a stock jeep as the sport (or rubicon?) I still run 33s even with a lift

In need of some help. I recently bought a 2016 Jeep Wrangler unlimited Sahara jk that has 225/75/17 tires on it. I want to upgrade to an aggressive tire with a little bit more height, without using spacers or lifts. Do you have any tire suggestions for me? I don't really go off road, it's more for look and snow.

The jeep originally had 18inch wheels, previous owner put 17in wheels on it, that's what I have now.

I was planing on using 35" tires with a 1.75" spacer lift on my 2017 JK Unlimited Rubicon. I'm changing out all my fenders as well. I have heard that Rubicons have a 1" factory lift over the Sport and Safari. Is that true? If so, that would give me 2.75" lift total. If not, is 1.75" enough and still be able to use my sway bar release?

Hello, looking for advice. I want to slap on some patagonia Mt on my unlimited high altitude wrangler with no lift. JL. For the most part I will drive in city, and want to stick with super light off road. Nothing crazy. Is this a good setup ?

A tune and set of gears should be done on every jeep anyway since jeeps are some of the slowest vehicles on earth. The new turbo Diesel isn't too bad when tuned.
