CCNA is basically just an introduction to take CCNP. Those who are honest with themselves often say that learning and passing CCNA you will feel like a network engineer, that you learned alot. But then going to CCNP after, makes you humble, because you realize you really don't know anything. My suggestion is to always go for your CCNP if you want to work as an engineer, forget everything else until you have achieved that, unless of course you already have a job and there are things you need to learn for your job.

I'm 35 years young and just started my CCNA.
Only regret is that I started a little bit late, but very happy and motivated to ace this training!

I agree to getting the ccnp after the ccna because it gives you more of a foundation of routing and switching which helps in every area of networking. To me ccnp knowledge is the basics of network engineer

#CCNALAB Thanks Chuck, your words and encouragement help me pass ICND2 recently. I'm officially CCNA certified! I started working on the security exam as I work with ASAs frequently. Keep up the great content

I agree, get your CCNA Lean the basics PLEASE LEARN your BASICS!! Once you get that I n your head, the rest will be easy, but as everything... practice, practice, practice... or you will forget and start all over again. I got my CCNA, Then Security, then CCNP.. now on to CCSP. Don’t cheat your self... put the time and some money to learn and really pass the test.. if you don’t pass the firs and second time, you LIKE ME are not alone.. get back on it and you will succeed! Also invest on hardware. They are cheap now days.. I bought a 3560 last night for $20 using one of the local sell your stuff apps, Just because my 3550 wasn’t enough for my SISAS lab. I started with Jeremy videos back in 2009 and I still go back at them.. awesome guy and I definitely owe my CCNA to him.. best of luck to everyone on their certs, and career.. and Happy Holidays..

I enjoy very much these vidios. One of the major mistakes I made is not going for CCNP right after CCNA. CCNP isn't that much harder than CCNA when it comes to route and switch and momentum/passion carried from getting CCNA is more than enough to pass CCNP switch exam, and once you got that one it's only 2 left to go... I haven't taken CCNA security yet, but many say it's tougher than CCNP exams.

I agree with you about CCNA routing and switching. Even on the DoD side of the IT industry, CCNA RS is like the Security+ for the networking side of the house. CCNP would be the CISSP equivalent. I have yet to see CCIE required or even requested, so I think you understand what I mean.

#CCNALAB Network Chuck is a great encouragement as I struggle through the Cisco classes that I've enrolled in. The contest is just icing on the cake.

So basically saying, you can go your own way, i mean own path, and learn yourself at the same time, slowly CCNP R/S, so buy the time you do your own job, you can simply feel comfortable about it. At the end of the day, additional knowledge will be the plus. And if you already good with Security, you could easily study CCNP and pass their exams. I am personally more about security/OSCP and this stuff, and i do not want CCNP in R/S, but i think material itself will have a good value for a future. It is all about the money. You could save money you paid for exam, but you could still learn material. And this is great.

#CCNALAB hey, I'm from Jamaica and currently in high school but I really am enjoying the studying for my CCENT certification and I think the David Bombal course would help me along. I love your videos btw, very good production quality and it's nice to see a smaller channel using a pro quality camera

#CCNALAB I'm starting a course in January 30 2018 and I heard that it is good to have multiple place of information to learn. This will be a good place to start. Thank you and keep the good work.
