Xacuti is also called shacuti which is derived from the portuguese word chacuti which means dark brown in portuguese.
Xacuti is a curry prepared in Goa, India, with complex spicing, including white poppy seeds, sliced or grated coconut and large dried red chilies. It is usually prepared with chicken or lamb.
Xacuti is an essential inclusion of every Goan celebration and is liked for its spicy taste.
Do try out this dish, which goes well with steamed rice or any Indian bread and is best liked in Goa with pau or poi.
