Screen Automatically Changes Brightness (Fix)

This is a short video showing how to fix the annoying problem that the screen automatically changes its brightness on its own, without you doing anything. By default for some reason Windows default behavior is automatic brightness adjustments, unfortunately it makes it seem like of the Brightness changes randomly during using the computer.

This problem doesn't come from the monitor itself in most cases, it comes from a setting within Windows, this is relevant to a Windows 10, Windows 8, Even prior versions had the same like win 7, Here I'm going to demonstrated on Windows 8.1 but it doesn't matter.
The setting would be in the same place in all versions.

As long as your computer supports adaptive brightness (you will see when you follow the video) This will fix the dimming issue.

(Yes, I'm a software developer and no one knows I developed AnyCase App, one of the most popular Case Converters out there)

For Nvidia cards turn off Antialiasing- Gamma Correction in Nvidia Control Panel. Nvidia Control Panel- 3D Settings- Manage 3D settings- Global Settings.

THIS IS WHAT'S AVAILABLE TODAY!
(it seems that Microsoft decided somewhere in 2019 to remove this feature, making a lot of computers almost unusable)

1. In Intel Laptops - open intel graphics command center find the power option > on battery > Turn off adaptive brightness, go to "plugged in" and turn off adaptive brightness there as well.
2. AMD laptops - the issue that causes it is called Vari-Bright turn it off in the Radeon settings.
3. In Dell Laptops - the setting is moved to the BIOS, restart the computer get into your BIOS > video > Dynamic backlight control > Disable that.

FOUND SOLUTION WINDOWS 11, CAN'T BELIEVE NO ONE IS SHOWING THIS SIMPLE FIX OMG.

Go to Settings, System, then click on the brightness option, it should have a small arrow indicating there are more options. This should expand it to 1 option saying "Change brightness based on content". Mine was set to "On Battery Only" but turn it off. AND IT SOLVES IT.

I got my computer back after not using it for 4 days or so, and the screen starts to dim after a little while, or almost instantly when I'm playing a game. I turned all the stuff to never and couldn't find adaptive brightness. It brightens if i move the mouse a lot if not in a game, and if i type bright to try to get to brightness settings into the windows search bar, although i think typing anything in there wil work. It is plugged in always, and at full battery. please help.
Edit: Forgot to mention i'm on windows 10.

If you have a samsung monitor just go to the menu and disable the 'Dynamic Brightness' option in 'System'

One more thing, under "Power Options" click o "Change settings that are currently unavailable". On my personal laptop "Intel Graphics Settings" is added to the list. Default settings are "Maximum power saving", after i change this to "Maximum Performance" my screen is clear and bright again. (the problem is not always the brightness, is the contrast of the LCD dynamically changing for saving power).
The brightness is the backlight power of the LCD (LED or CFL), and contrast is the voltage applied to every pixel in the LCD. Both have about the same result for the image. Check them both!

This worked : If you have adaptive brightness turned off go to Intel Grpahics Control Panel --> Power --> Switch off the option to save power. Re-connect your AC. This worked for me after everything else failed.

Possible other solution: If you have an integrated graphics card, open its application (for amd its amd software adrenalin edition), go to settings, sound and display: mine was set on cinematic, i changed it to standard. This helped for me.
