NBC News asked Navajo voters in Arizona about tonight's presidential debate between former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris and what they expected to hear from each candidate.

To the Navajo community, when thinking about Trump and Harris, consider who truly values Native voices. Trump dismantled critical environmental protections and failed to address the needs of Native tribes during the pandemic. Kamala Harris has a track record of supporting tribal sovereignty, addressing healthcare, and standing up for Indigenous rights. Ask yourselves: who has acted in your best interest? Don’t be swayed by confusion—look at their actions, not just their words. The future of your land, healthcare, and culture depends on it.
