I must admit that I was among the 12v is 12v crowd; that is until now.. Vary informative and enlightening. Thanks the one thing he didn't say is that short or voltage spike damage means you have a nice new paper weight but no ecu and having run all the wiring i would probably feel that i would rather buy another than start over from scratch. So it's not just that you lost time you lost money. both are to hard to come by to waste.

Very informative video. Just one comment, most NHRA tracks will not allow you to run this to the battery, if your car has a kill switch. It must be attached to the kill switch, as the kill switch must kill all power to the car. There can only be 1 power cable going from positive to kill switch, and 1 ground cable going from negative to vehicle ground.

I would love to see the alternator 1 vs 3 wire setup for old cars and what is the correct choice for a Holley EFI.

@HolleyPerformance - Wouldn't it be safer for to mount the primary ECU ground wire to a good solid chassis/frame ground close to the battery, so you only maintain a single, heavy ground cable connected to negative battery post from engine and then to body and chassis? Seems like there would be risk of high current running through the ECU if the main battery ground cable was disconnected while the primary ECU ground was still connected and any accessories were on. (unless all Holley ECU internal grounds are isolated from chassis/engine to prevent this)

I ran directly to battery, I couldn't rev past 6700 rpms. I grounded my ECU to the body(chassis) of my car, now I can rev all I want. They are off. I've read many posts to use the body for grounding better.

Early Mustangs have a starter solenoid within about a foot of the battery. With the solenoid being so close, will this cause problems with spikes? In general, would having a solenoid so close be a cause to void the warranty?

Can you do a video on how to wire up a GM small cap Electronic distributor to control timing.
I installed the Terminator on my 69 camaro and would like to use this type of setup.

Great video, but I want to see what's next for that Dart. I see that it has a 340. Would be great if Holley had a multi-port intake for the 318/340/360 engine.

I purchased the HP EFI retrofit kit. Now I'm looking around to get all the information's for a clean good installation.
My battery is in the trunk, two 1 AWG wires (12V / Ground) goes in the engine bay. Starter MSD BOX and cooling fans rund on these wires. A condensator is installed between the terminals. A condensator has positiv effect on jump voltage etc. so now my question. Can the ECU wired on these terminals with the condensator?
