A lot of cars suffer from this problem. The brake master cylinder, which transmits the pressure from your foot into the braking system, can flex at the point it's attached to the car's firewall.
The answer is a bracket or brace which stops this flexing and gives you a firmer feel when braking hard which in turn gives you better control and more confidence.
