I'm so glad it wasn't just me! I was interested in giving this a test because I really like Elementary OS a few years ago but I haven't touched it in a while. I must say I was SORELY disappointed in the experience and it didn't last the day with me. I went back to EndeavourOS but thanks to your video on Linux Mint I may give that a go! Great works as always Don!

Ubuntu mate can easily be set up to look like Elementary but with far more custombility and much less resources.

Something another YT reviewer saw regarding the AppCenter crashing has happened to me as well. When left alone (in my case +24hrs) AppCenter no longer crashes and all flatpaks are displayed. One thing both he and I did was install a flatpak from flathub. Makes me wonder if somehow adding the flathub repo is resolving this. Or some task needed time to complete. Maybe try it in a VM for a longer term test?

You need to flatpak reinstall the epiphany locale, then it will probablt work again. Had the same problem with the internet browser not once, not twice, but thrice.

I've had "corrupted" fresh Linux installs before over the years... wiping and re-installing (from the same ISO) has worked some times. Browsers not working, app stores messing up... sounds like the same M.O. as issues I've had before (across different distros).

Could've been that installing it through Ventoy made the installer unstable? If they don't list it as a supported way of installing the OS you shouldn't use it. Try installing it through a USB drive that just contains the OS and see what happens. Also the video and audio need some fixes: I had to listen to it through Nvidia Broadcast to reduce the background noise and the PiP cam keeps flashing.

What software was used to monitor system usage? I didn't found any "usage" app

When this was first available, I installed it and couldn't get the app store to open to install post installation updates. So I did the updates with apt in the terminal and shut it down. Next day I booted it up again and sure enough the app store was (Kinda) working and told me that there was 2 updates to do and when I tried to install them only 1 would install. I tried numerous times to no avail so I installed something that works and that's it. LAME.

yeah it seems very buggy not sure why they would release it in this state I haven't tested it out yet, but now im gonna be testing this out in a VM cause right now I don't really have hardware to put it on I mean I do but I should say im TOOO lazy to get it out of storage to use it lol.... also the white theme on ur display it looks kind of pinkish its weird and bothers me.

Thank you for just review. First saw a positive one on Elementary OS at DT youtube channel, then yours came. Thought Elementary bought (GNU/Linux youtubers) or should I say, it invested in positive posts. Glad that you said truth. Elementary is buggy and has nothing special about them.

im not really into gnome shell anyhow and also ubuntu based... if anything manjaro kde I will still say it now is the best distro for linux though Im sure most will say no but as a personally experience with it I say it is very good system. Manjaro #1 :)
