That animation is nuts. This was my favourite manga chapter from the whole wano arc. Sure I enjoy gear 5 and understand what it’s going for, but this last gear 4 fight was just so raw and brutal. I feel like a bit of that was missing in the anime, but this last clash was such a cool surprise. Real over the top animation that works.

Bro nowadays, I don't even have a favourite one piece ep anymore, its way too hard for me to decide after seeing LITERALLY THE WHOLE KATAKURI FIGHT, 1015, 1033, 1049, 1050, 1061, 1062, 1070, 1071, 1076, 1089, 1093, 1100, 1101 and counting, so I just gave up on having a favourite episode

I disagree with many people that Kaido could tank the final Over Kong Gun if the CP0 had not interfere. One thing you have to remember that when Kaido tanked the first Over Kong Gun, he was in his dragon mode. It is hard to say that his hybrid form could tank the second Over Kong Gun, because size mattered in One Piece. One example was when Kid used a giant metal bull to knock out Big Mom's giant form.

I believe that in hybrid mode, Kaido's defense lowered (from dragon mode) but his offensive skyrocketed because he could use stronger bagua moves. Kaido wanted to end Luffy Gear 4 once and for all, hence he had to change from dragon to hybrid in order to use his whatever destroyer bagua in that final clash.
