This was such a delightful video. I enjoyed seeing someone like me that loves dishes and glassware as much as I do. I have seven china cabinets filled with china, crystal and teapots. I love milk glass! I had a collection (including a candy dish of my moms) when I moved I gave it away. 😢 I missed it and yes I’ve started again🤦🏻‍♀️ I have 1 of those dishes, that’s all that was there at the time.
My mom would make an event of holidays as well, I follow in her footsteps and you know what, everyone always says oh it looks so pretty!!
You didn’t lie, you just tried to curb yourself. Life is short, live and use what you love! It’s no one else’s business what you do, but or have. Love that you’re happy!! Your sons can just have an open house and sell the stuff or give it away. My son says mama, if it makes you happy being surrounded by it, then do it, you’ve earned the right with all that you’ve done for me🥰❤️ Enjoy yourself Marcy! ❤

Love your milk glass. I have a set of dishes including the snack sets plus many accessory pieces that I have had packed up for years and about to donate to a friends yard sale for st. Jude. I thrifted a table cloth recently that made me want to get the milk glass back out. I didn’t realize I had so much. Mine is the grape pattern too. Look for the Westmoreland milk glass in that pattern. It is super heavy and gorgeous. The Westmoreland mark is on the bottom of their pieces.

I got so tickled watching your video. It's a good thing we don't live in the same town/state. I'm sure we'd be besties and both of us would have to find a house just for our beloved stuff. I too, get nostalgic about things I remember my mom having when I was a kid at home. Our holiday dinners always brought out the "good" dishes too and I carried that tradition on when I had my kids at home. I'm 68 tomorrow and I've tried to start parting with some of my things too so my kids won't have to deal with it when I'm gone but I have only sons and my daughters in law do not want my china. I've been told, "no one uses that stuff anymore mom". It makes me sad that we're losing some of the traditions that made holidays so special.
