The Flamingos were the Godfathers of Shoegaze... 1959's I Only Have Eyes for You is but one example.

I'd call Jesus And Mary Chain kinda proto-shoegaze, just like A.R.Kane or the Cocteau Twins (both of which can be put under the Dreampop tag). But it's still worth mentioning for the influence factor. It officially started with MBV's "Isn't Anything". Everything that characterizes it is there.
Good job overall, though :)

The Jesus and Mary Chain were NOT shoegaze. PsychoCandy was influenced by 60's wall of sound reverb generated by Phil Spector and simple 3 chord songs a la Velvet Underground. Whilst Loveless was undoubtedly an amazing album, it was Isnt Anything that first drove the Shoegaze movement. Released in 1988, it had a massive influence on Ride, who's Nowhere album and 2 EPs were released in 1989/90, who you totally ignore well before Loveless and a host of other bands like Chapterhouse, Curve, Swervedriver, Pale Saints. All doing their thing in the late 80s.Slowdive also released their first album Just For A Day in 1991, again before Loveless
Shoegaze was a term coined by a British journalist to describe the rising number of bands who focussed there attention on the myriad of pedals they used to influence the sound.
This is a decent video, but your timelines, influences and reference bands are all over the shop.
I know cos I was living it in 1989.
Cheers
