Chapterhouse - Whirlpool (1993) is one of my favorite shoegaze albums ever.
In 1993 you had many great shoegaze records.

Loveless is a true masterpiece of not just the shoegazing genre, but music in general. One of my favourite albums of all time. Still don’t understand why it isn’t available on iTunes or Spotify.

As much as i love shoegaze i feel the genre needs to re invent itself in order for it to thrive again. There's so many MBV copy bands out there.

Ride's song "Leave Them All Behind" is one of the best songs ever.

Glad they mentioned A Storm in Heaven by Verve. AMAZING album and I recommend it to everywhere here. Also, they forgot In the Presence of Nothing by Lilys. That's the American equivalent to Loveless by MBV. Seriously, give that album a listen. Oh, and it's soon to be reissued on vinyl by Frontier Records next January with preorders starting sometime in November.

For Catherine Wheel, Chrome is awesome, but Ferment is my personal favourite. Nice to see two entries each from Ride, MBV, and my favourite shoegaze band, Slowdive. I guess the Cocteau Twins are more Dream pop?
