I can see a lot of growth in these three since the first video. This is a great education at this game we call life!

I don't know if this suggestion would be helpful, but it might: Hang a white board in the house to write messages/updates/notes to each other. Each person could check the board upon entering the house. This could maybe serve as communication in between regular times you guys schedule.

The breaker moment reminded me of when our furnace went out a few months ago, and I sought recommendations on the local facebook group for furnace repair services. I had several people who said, “Before you call anyone, change the batteries in the control panel!” My husband and I didn’t even realize ours had batteries — whoops. Lol! It turned out to be something else, but it was a reminder how sometimes the solution is pretty simple and right under your nose, if only you knew how to recognize it!

If you all have smart devices, it may be good to set up a group chat specifically for the house. That way, once you learn/do something immediately you can report to the group.

I don’t feel like the kids are spoiled. They’re trying to do a hard thing and doing it with the best knowledge and resources they have. It’s not going to go perfectly but that’s the point. It’s a learning opportunity and a chance for them to grow and challenge themselves. And they’re seeing the challenges. They got this, they can do it.

Even tho you guys feel like things aren’t happening I can see the growth and the lessons that you are already learning! Communication is something that we all need to work on! Also it takes time for momentum to build up! You got this! 🤘

I appreciate Dove so much after this video. She took ownership of what was really going on with the house. Wasting time is wasting opportunity. This is a fantastic opportunity that has been given to you guys. The only bad thing that can happen is that the opportunity can be wasted. I really believe in this family. I'm thankful for your sharing. I was going to say: "Good Luck" and realized you don't need luck... you just need to do your best. Your best, is your road to success. :)

I love seeing seven in front of the camera, his a great editor so it’s awesome to see him in front of the camera discussion his ideas and excitement as well. As for vlog titles here’s a couple: seven doves in the garden of Eden, Crawford’s DIY, Crawford’s in the wind, Crawford: the house, teens and dreams, Crawford’s Home improvement, 99 problems and the house is one!, and Teens and Dreams.

I cant wait to see what you guys do with the place! I think you are doing a great job already, so when communication starts flowing, things are gonna get awesome! Better to start out a little slow than making a bunch of quick decisions anyway, imo. You got this.

Perhaps using Google Docs would help? You can all edit the same document. And you can use Excel-like spreadsheets for your "to-do" lists, noting who is doing which task and when the task gets done or if it is still pending. Work it out on the chalk board first but keep records. This way, everyone is kept up-to-date on the progress you are making. Also, you can see the progress which keeps momentum going!!!
Second piece of advice - embrace your privilege! It's awesome your parents gave you these gifts. Plenty of parents pay or help pay for college... That's AWESOME too. It's what you do with your opportunities that matters.
If you have housing or an income after this house flip that gives you more control re how you live & use your resources (time, money). You are gaining so many key skills doing this project. I'm guessing these two reasons are part of why your parents presented this challenge. Having housing or an income stream, will take some financial pressure off you. You will have more time to make a difference in other people's lives (what that looks like, is up to each of you). Good luck! I'm rooting for you all!!!

How about putting a communication/project notebook or binder in the house for each of you to make notes in as you deal with house things.

That way, whoever is at the house can know where things are at very easily.

It would also end up being a good reminder of everything it took to get wherever you're going to get to with the renos.

Around the money, what about each of you having a debit card for the house expenses account. It will put you all on an even footing in being able to move things forward. You could also set up an email account so that you can e-transfer money to contractors as payments are due and be able to keep track of spending easily.

The gas leak is a big deal and potentially deadly. Hope that's first priority now. Turning the breaker off when there's a gas leak was a smart idea (and doing that and communicating about it would be brilliant).

Gas leaks and old electrical wiring together can be an explosive combination, from just a single spark .... arcing, or a contractor with a lit cigarette.

Great to see the problem identification and problem solving happening.

You’re all in “the process” of learning money management, communication, time management, construction management and more. We often want to be at journeys end without going through the process. One little step at a time and in several months you’ll look back and you’ll be able to see your progress. Have you all talked about the design of the house yet? To me, that’s the fun part. You’re all doing great and remember to be patient in the midst of the process.

I love the sound of "WALK" to the bank. At 61 I am finally in a place where my truck sits 99 percent of the time, gathering dust. I rarely leave the town center, except for hiking, medical appointments, and infrequent Stop and Shop runs. A big Y market is under construction 1.5 miles from here. I walk 5 miles daily and am loving every minute of it. I make up errends so I can make the 1 mile round trip to the hardware, CVS or grocery store. Banks and library are nearby and I am enjoying the best of smalltown life in our city of 20, 000, Simsbury CT. Driving is iinsane. CT state police just told everyone to speed up to avoid congestion. They are commonly seen driving 80 in the lefthand lane(s). Limits?

Here I have been so vehemently #TeamEden but Dove was so great here admitting faults and coming to terms with the fact that they have all the resources and they can totally do this!

How about 'Reno Together'. It keeps with the original theme and work ethic. Communication is key in keeping everything running smoothly, so one or two meetings a week is essential to the process. Work smart not hard and work together. *Good Luck!!*

DOVE, YOU NEED TO BE THE BOSS, YOU ARE 18. YOU STILL HAVE TO LISTEN TO EDEN, AND SE7EN, YET THE TEAM NEEDS A LEADER. IF YOU ARE NOT UP TO BEING THE BOSS, LET THE NEXT BEST LEADER FUL.FILL THE POSITION. SOMEONE NEEDS TO BE IN CHARGE OF THE PROGRAM.

THEN BREAK DOWN THE NEEDS OF THE HOUSE STARTING WITH A LIST OF THE UTILITIS, ELECTRICITY, GAS, AND WATER. SUCH THAT, ARE THEY ALL TURNED ON, AND READY TO GO. THEN MAKE A LIST OF ALL THE ROOMS INSIDE THE HOUSE, ALONG WITH ANY OUTDOOR AREAS OF CONCERN. YOU SHOULD THEN ALL SETTLE ON WHAT AREAS OF THIS LISTS, SUCH AS EACH ROOM, NEEDS TO BE DONE TO GIVE Y'ALL A GUIDELINE OF WHAT YOU WANT TO ACCOMPLISH FOR EACH AREA ON THE LIST.

THEN MAKE A LOGBOOK FOR EACH OF THESE AREAS, SO YOU CAN EASILY LOOK AT IT TO SEE WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE OR HAS ALREADY BEEN COMPLETED FOR EACH ROOM OR AREA. THIS TYPE OF COMMUNICATION WILL GIVE Y'ALL, PLUS YOUR PARENTS INFORMATION ON YOUR PROGRESS. YOU CAN ALSO LIST HOW MUCH EXPENSE WAS USED IN EACH AREA TO HELP TRACK YOUR COSTS.

THIS LOGBOOK CAN ALSO BE USED TO PUT WHO YOU WANT TO BE IN CHARGE OF EACH ROOM, AND AREA. I HOPE MY SUGGESTION OF THIS LOGBOOK TYPE PROGRAM WILL BENEFIT YOUR TEAM PROGRESS. THIS TYPE OF LOGBOOK PROGRAM HAS ALWAYS SERVED ME WELL IN MY BUSSINESS OPERATIONS.

PLEASE EXCUSE MY USE OF ALL CAPS, AS MY EYESIGHT AT MY AGE IS BAD, WHICH MAKES IT EASIER FOR ME TO SEE. GOOD LUCK ON GETTING THIS HOUSE BACK TO SOMETHING YOU WILL LOVE LIVING IN AS WELL. I LOOK FORWARD TO Y'ALLS HOUSE PROGRESS, AND HOPE YOU MINIMIZE EXPENSIVE COSTS DUE TO POOR FUTURE COMMUNIICATIONS WHICH CAN COST YOU UNNESSISARY COSTS.

I LOVE
