Node-RED is a simply visual tool for wiring internet of things (IoT) together.
It is included in Raspbian Jessie OS.
At first I test it, to get my data from my Sense HAT board.

Here your connection is successful, but for my case it connects for 1 sec and then shows disconnected. What is the possible cause of it. I am having Pi3

Nice video, thanks ! I have two questions :

1. How to run node-red in the background ?
I tried "node-red &". It runs in the background but repeatedly surfaces in the foreground.

2. How do we start node-red automatically in the background as the pi boots up ?
So, we do not have to ssh every time and type in "node-red".
I tried adding "node-red &" in /etc/rc.local. This does not work i.e. it does not even start node-red.

Please let know.

Dude, Maybe you can help me. I been beating my head up against the wall on this for 3 days and i'm about ready to give up and just go back to using python and tkinter. I have a motion detector hooked up to an alarm i would like to create a switch that when on and motion is detected the alarm goes off. When off and motion is detected it does nothing.
I'm attempted to do that like so GPIOinput - ui_switch - Alarm. As you probably already know this isn't working the way i had hoped. Instead of interrupting the flow of data from the GPIOinput to the GPIOoutput it just sounds the alarm or turns it off.

hello! I’m a beginner in programming so please excuse me for my ignorance:i need your precious help on a project. I have a beaglobone black which is supposed to get measurments from an amplifier and then save them in a new matrix( 2 columns of frequency f and time t ).I need the measurments imported into node red and then shown on a chart of frequency and time axes. The Node-red doesn't load to my browser on my pc from raspberry pi. What could be the reasons?

-Pi is connected to my pc through ethernet.
- I use hostname -I to obtain Pi ip-address
-I start the node-red-start on my Pi
- I enter ip-address to my browser on my pc: 169.254.21.49:1880
-The browser responds with Network ERROR

hello.. thank you for this tutorial, i have a problem! in my project i have data coming from different sensors (voltage, current, temperature). these data are coming on an arduino like inputs, then i want to send these data to my raspberry pi using UART connexion (the arduino is connected to my pi with RX/TX connexion) so i can later make a graphic interface with node red to show the evolution of each sensor. my question is how could i collect these data on the red node? how could i recuperate them from the pi? plz answer me..
