I am a reconverted Catholic, God intervened when I attended an Anglican Church after a divorce, when I thought I would be no longer welcome to be a Catholic. The intervention was powerful and it had the effect that as you stated, he gradually presented me with all the information I needed. It took 20 years of searching….. and then I was found. Glory to God! Now everything makes sense…… I loved your story!

I watched Devin's conversion story on The Journey Home - great to see he's still an on fire Catholic.

Wow, Eddie, what a clickbait title! :) I'll watch first thing I can. And yes, I was fine last time you asked, now we're sick, so please pray for us. My son is very feverish. :(

Saint Thérèse, at age 12, had MEMORIZED “The Imitation of Christ”! I gave each of my grandchildren a copy and just bought myself another copy.❤️

It's funny (not haha, but you know) how many intelligent atheists end up in the Church. It seems to me that the biggest pitfall for those who don't, is Pride. I know that was true of me for a while. Thank you Devin, for sharing your story. Please pray for my dear friends who are beautiful, intelligent people but don't see the Truth of God and His Mercy.

RCIA GRADUATES: I believe it is true that many people who enter the Church, later leave the church. One really needs to be an “intentional Catholic”, meaning that one must take charge of learning the faith and following the Commandments and precepts. 🙏

I do think the TLM is the most reverent, and THAT helps all the congregants!

Is important to be Baptized. I was as a baby in a Catholic church. As a child growing up I always love Jesus and on my knees and I feel looking back is the grace of God through it. Even though I was Baptized by two other Denomination later on in my teen years. I return to the Catholic Church in 2018 and I am still getting things that are not true about Catholicism.

At minute 10:41 that passage has been so helpful to me too. It is Mathew 11 28-30 is the only place in the New Testament where Jesus directly instructs us to learn something specific from him. He asks two things humbleness and patience. The greek word used for humbleness has many possible translations but all are beautiful humbleness, meekness, docility, softness. I’ve stayed so long in that passage. I looked up the meaning of yoke and how many times have been used in the bible, of all the connections of yoke with the Old testament the one I like best is 1 King 12 Rehoboam son of Salomon, from the same line of Jesus.

Sadly you are correct; no need to apologize. The longer you go to Catholic school, the more I’ll-informed you are. Tragically so many of us who went agree: go to Catholic school and lose your faith. JMJ, bring them back+

Really enjoyed the dialogue. It's interesting that Matthew 11 - "My burden is light" was a key verse in your conversion, and yet you settled on a denomination that seems quite burdensome. I suppose some people need that extra structure in their lives.

My concern with institutional Christianity is that some groups fall into the 'we are the only true church' type thinking, and lose sight of the big picture. It's my understanding that RCC and EO no longer take that stance. Hope that's true. God be with you in your journey.
