Just had to revisit this oldie but goodie after a rough go of a round last week.

Love the content!!

I believe the tip at 4:09 is key...that shaft lean through impact is made possible by the right hip turning toward the target...This keeps the club inline for the milliseconds it needs to compress the ball in a straight line. This is the essence of the release.

Hi Rick I have been practicing this advice, also keeping my weight on left leg ball foot at set up & getting left hand ahead ball at impact is what is helping improve me to hit crisp irons. Looking forward to more tips.. Thanks again top teaching language.. Love PGA Rick & Pete

Great video Rick! Easy to understand instruction and it really helped me to improve my ball striking. Now when I make crisp contact, I am getting more distance and higher softer landing shots with the short irons. Keep up the great work!

Any chance of a video on ball position (forward/back) and effects on shot shape? If you could also talk about in to out and out to in swing paths I'd be most grateful esquire. Congrats on the baby too :-)

Great video rick that's helped me a lot thank you very much. Just came back from Celtic manor golf today about a hour ago and my irons were dreadful so this should help me a lot thanks .

Hi Rick - great video, quick question though; how can you measure where and how you're hitting the ball when practicing on a driving range/astroturf? When out on the course you get the instant feedback from a divot (or lack of) but I find it really hard to get a gauge when practicing on the driving range. Any tips or hints for how I can measure this? Thanks

Hi Rick, loving the videos. This is what i've been working on recently but was wondering how this idea would work when trying to play a punch shot? I when i try to hit a punch i sometimes hit a higher than normal trajectory.
