Russia has the political will to keep on fighting regardless of losses. The people at home do not lose their desire for war even if their loved ones return in body bags or missing limbs. Russia isn't like soft western countries where a couple thousand casualties will trigger political unrest. There's only one way to stop them: battle field defeat.

It would be completely foolish, not that the Russians aren't completely foolish, for Russia to stretch their line out any further and attempt to take Odessa. They need to first try and strengthen their center in the Donbas region. May they fail in all their goals.

What is sad for me... If Ukraine got the weapons they wanted from the start... Less soldiers would have died... Russia would not have advanced. From the beginning it was not a fair fight for Ukraine... The fact that they still hold on takes my breath away.... I have so much respect for the Ukrainian people... Remarkable human spirit...

I was thinking a few days ago that May 9th would likely mark the furthest the Russians could expect to advance before the Ukrainians began to push them back into Russia. Perhaps the Russians have already achieved their maximum reach into Ukraine. Let us hope so.

But what is satisfactory endgame for NATO and chiefly USA? To push Russians back, Ukrainian army must become stronger then Polish, purely on donations. And if you count rebels and civilians, probably 3 Ukrainians become casualty for each Russian. This cannot go forever, and Russians did not even mobilize reservists.

I would not underestimate the will and spirit of the Russian people whether you hate or not. Remember they were the only country in europe that defeated the Western europeans/anglos dna and Hitler had to surrender Berlin and Germany.

US was spending 8 Billions EVERY MONTH for 10 years in Afghanistan fighting jihadists with no real economy behind them. And since the US already had the tanks and planes, this was almost all spent on Logistics, ammunition, fuel etc. The Ukrainians on top of ammunition, they need the actual guns, tanks, planes AND they are fighting a real army with the 11th largest economy supporting them. So if we are serious about pushing Putin back to Russia, the west needs to increase military aid to Ukraine 10 to 100 times without exaggeration
