The purpose of placing the finger in the corner of the eye, next to the nose is to keep the drops from running into your mouth through the tear duct.  I had to learn this the hard way.  Right after a tech instilled me with drops to dilate my pupils, I had the worst sinus attack.  My daughter is the one who told me to always put pressure there after drops.

Now you need eye drops after surgery? Forget it, I’d rather have cloudy vision then all the complications of eye surgery. Pass.
