Newborn baby boy found dead in duffel bag outside Chicago fire station, police say

This is extremely sad. I pray the baby was not left outside in subzero temperatures to die. If so, I pray whoever placed them there is located, and made to face their negligence. Notwithstanding the fact that this should never have happened, laws need to be refined to ensure children's safety when being dropped off at these "Safe places."

As a friendly suggestion, fire departments need to go to schools with fire safety and Safe Haven information.

You know it’s so stupid I understand that this great idea of leaving babies at a fireplace but they don’t even have the proper system you know in Korea they have actual door that they could slip it in and the baby goes down safely into a warm place and alerts the individual that someone dropped the baby.

Where was the box??? This is why they have the box.. these mothers are embarrassing, ashamed, and frightened! They don't want to hand the baby over to a person. Thats why they made the box!
