Native Title Inquiry Needed Now!

I spoke in support of Senator Hanson's motion for an inquiry into Native Title.

The problem many of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders we speak to have continuously raised with us is that under Native Title the land is locked up and can't benefit from it. That's about half of Australia locked up under Native Title and held with the government. Is it any wonder the United Nations is so interested in Native Title?

The white and black aboriginal industry consists of lawyers, consultants, activists, academics, politicians and bureaucrats. They all claim to be 'closing the gap' between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders' standard of living and other non aboriginal Australians. The fundamental flaw in this system is that those running the industry are parasitically living off the money that is given to the aboriginal communities. It is a self-perpetuating problem.

Every year the billions of taxpayers' dollars poured into solving the problem is being syphoned off by the same individuals who "claim" to be helping. Very little of the money makes it through to those in need.

You may recall when the Western nations were called upon to donate to ease the famine in African nations, very little of that aid often didn't make it past the greedy government bureaucrats. This is what's going on in Australia now. The pressure to scale it up is significant, but it will only increase the size of the industry and make it worse.

What is needed is a solution to the Native Title problem that's locking up the land. A sunset clause in the Native Title act should also be included. We need accountability within the white and black aboriginal industry.

Autonomy and accountability is what the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities are hungry for, yet they are being blocked by those who are living off the industry in the cities, both aboriginal and non-aboriginal.

It's time to close the gap for good. We need this inquiry.

The one good thing the referendum has done is draw the nation's attention to the grift

You’re a brilliant advocate for Australians, dear Senator Roberts. Thank you for serving the people, you’re one of the few that actually do what you’re paid to do. I’m very grateful to you and Senator Hanson.

Full audit badly needed to sort the corruption. The best thing to come out this abhorrent attack is a chance to see what's going on.

This has to stop its out of control its time for a Royal Commission in to where all this money is going because it's definitely not getting to the aboriginal people in great need because there is so much corruption going on

an enquiry is essential, people need to help accountable. The governments and any committee or organization that is supposed to act for and behalf of the people they represent should be held accountable.

What is prime minister hiding why on earth would an inquiry not be held ??? At the very least it would hopefully help clear the way for the money to reach us because it's been months since I could even get help to buy some groceries they just keep saying there aren't any Coles food cards available I hate asking for help but I hate being hungry even more in a way I'm glad I haven't received a handout but I wouldn't have gotten so damn sick if I'd had some food eather where's the money going ??? And I'm voting NO on the voice I have no interest in living in a race based country besides I recon the prime minister is just using us to legally open our constitution to sign the country over to the U.N he doesn't care about Australians at all he's proven how sly he really is

Upon the Voice Referendum passing the indigenous peoples of Australia could find themselves at risk of being TRAPPED!
If the indigenous peoples cannot elect or de elect in an election of integrity then the members of the Voice Body cannot be held accountable.
In this scenario the indigenous peoples will not be able to collectively effect voice policy.
Therefore it should mean the Voice Body would have no legal right to speak on behalf of the indigenous peoples and further more what would give such a voice body a right to chart the future destiny of the indigenous peoples of Australia.
Voting “yes” can very easily become a form of disenfranchisement and therefore entrapment for the indigenous peoples of Australia.

Thank you for sharing. We need Senators in the Philippines to file laws like Native Title Act so that Indigenous People be protected from land seekers Indigenous Cultural Communities was become squatters in their own traditional lands. Few decades from now Indigenous become homeless in their own homelands.

Please don't give up Malcolm and keep fighting for all of us. Side Note - Dealing with Centerlink has become a nightmare, that crazy AI phone system just keeps hanging up on me. Its impossible to get through to a human/person, worse still you cannot go down to a local office - you have to phone/book a reservation time, but the silly AI phone won't let you do this. Crazy failed system.

Calls for Royal.Commissions have been around for some time. In
The Australian ABO CALL the voice of the Aborigines April 1938, In one sentence says
‘We call for a Royal Commission to investigate Aboriginal Administration in NSW.
This was their own paper.

Is it just me or did all our elected members just not attend this flawlessly logical submission to the chamber??? It appeared empty! Pragmatism seems to have been abandoned by our ‘leaders’ if this is the case. Regardless, well done Malcolm! First time I have heard you speak ever, instant subscriber!
