In the Warhammer 40k universe the Saint George slaying the dragon story was supposedly the result of people mixing up the story of the real St. George with the actions of the Immortal psychic who became the Emperor of Mankind. The Dragon was actually a fragment of an incredibly powerful alien star eating entity called a C’tan that came to Earth in the late classical era when the Emperor was in disguise as a Roman soldier. When we were kids, my mother taught us a little prayer to say to Saint George this prayer was to be said when in danger of an animal attack , the prayer is in Spanish, and I kild you not EVER TIME WE PRAYED IT, Saint George NEVER FAILED US !
