College Football Highlights: Tua, Jalen Hurts lead Alabama past Louisiana-Lafayette | ESPN

The Crimson Tide scored in the first three minutes and never looked back as Alabama crushed UL-Lafayette 56-14 behind big days from QB Tua Tagovailoa and WR Jaylen Waddle. At the end of the first quarter, QB Jalen Hurts entered for his fifth game of the season to a standing ovation, erasing any talks about Hurts redshirting the rest of 2018. On Hurts’ third pass of the game, he threw a 54-yard pass to Henry Ruggs III for a touchdown. Overall, Tagovailoa ended with 128 yards and two touchdowns, while Waddle ended with 138 yards and two touchdowns, including a punt return.

I feel like Jalen Hurts solidified himself as an early NFL draft pick by staying. Not only does he have talent and skills, that much was already known, but now he’s showed discipline, character, and above all, loyalty by sticking with a team that pulled him from the starting lineup. That will go a long way in the eyes of NFL scouts looking for guys to put on their team that are not only good, but dependable.
Especially with Kelly Bryant among others who chose to jump ship when the team didn’t do as they pleased, Hurts really is standing out among the crowd.
