You talk about the 50mm f/1.4, but you show the f/1.8. I had both and I like the f/1.4 better. It's a bit more expensive, but you can try to pick up a used one. The 1.4 is build better and has an actually useable focus ring. The one on the plastic fantastic 1.8 is quite loose and inprecise.
Purely talking about image quality, the 1.4, 1.8 and even the ridiculously expensive 1.2L are about equal, but the 1.4 has just a bit more wiggle room. I prefer the 1.4 and I recommend that one if budget allows.
