Hi, I am your host Siddhartha! I have been an entrepreneur from 2012-2017 building two products AddoDoc and Babygogo. After selling my company to SHEROES, I and my partner Nansi decided to start up again. But we felt unequipped in our skillset in 2018 to build a large company. We had known 0-1 journey from our startups but lacked the experience of building 1-10 journeys.

Hence was born The Neon Show (Earlier 100x Entrepreneur) to learn from founders and investors, the mindset to scale yourself and your company. This quest still keeps us excited even after 5 years and doing 200+ episodes.

We welcome you to our journey to understand what goes behind building a super successful company. Every episode is done with a very selfish motive, that I and Nansi should come out as a better entrepreneur and professional after absorbing the learnings.

Starbucks isn’t cheaper in India. $2.75 is for an extra espresso shot in the US. Their cheapest drink is Americano which is $3.75 without taxes. After taxes, it averages out to be $4.25, equivalent to about ₹350.

In India, their americano is for ₹280 after taxes.

Comparisons are for the short sized hot Americano.

With that being said, even though Starbucks might be cheaper in India at face value, it probably won’t be as cheap when you take average incomes and spending powers into account.

Friend took me once, got billed 1400₹ for 3 coffee.

Honestly, any cafe would serve similar coffee at 1/3rd of the price.

It's more about status game for Instagram.

Back then Cafe Coffee Day was an aspirational thing for me as a school kid where coffee sold at rs45 & you could get regular coffee for rs2 or rs5. I said to myself that I'll visit there only when i earn myself (which i did eventually)

I've been earning since a few years but never got into Starbucks. I rather save those & spend on something else. I'll never buy that shit from my hard earned money.

I'm not a Starbucks drinker but I've tried it 2-3 times. It is definitely not ₹660 . It averages around ₹300-400.

I am living in Germany for 15 years now. Came here for bachelor's and masters and now employed for the past 9 years. Never ever was in a Starbucks in India. Will never go. Same applies for mcD. India has a lot of Lovely local cafes or chat shops. Why miss out when in India

I tried starbucks three times cause I am a foodie and not because I am rich, and never felt its worth the price, food is much better than the drinks but definitely not worth the price.

I will not say the same for wework, as a previous user of the brand, india has very less platforms to create connections, a coworking space eases off this problem and helps you with an efficient way to meet your peers.

It's actually advisable to go and work from places like this as you will find like-minded people from this with whom at the lowest you learn and do small work or at the best find co-founders.

Also starbucks esspresso is only around 20ml and they charge for another shot. Where other cafes have at least 30ml esspresso or sometimes even more.

They are selling bottled water for rs 200. Good coffee don't need too much flavouring if Starbucks need that much flavouring its not good coffee.

I believe there is nothing wrong in this. Let customers get what they pay for.
As long as there are buyers you see sellers.
