The most important meeting of my life…

Over the last 10 years I spent a lot of time speaking with people in the meat industry, touring beef jerky factories and generally learning about the industry. There was a common opinion amongst many people I met… “Don’t start a beef jerky company”. The margins aren’t great, quality control is a huge pain, and there is way too much competition.

For most of my life I lived based on the opinions of others, but things only got good for me when I stopped. People thought it was silly to throw away my old career when I started making TikTok videos. Just like many smart people strongly advised against @eatmaxjerky

I have no idea how my life will turn out and if these things will be successful long term. But I can confidently say that not listening to those opinions has been the best decision of my life. All of this to say, if you truly believe in something, I’d say go for it.

I know you're one in a million to succeed, but damn is that deserved. I tried some of your recipes and they are amazing. My dad was a professional chef (now retired) and I have some nice cooking skills developed through his influence but not under his wing as I wanted my cooking to be my own journey.


We have almost opposite tastes in everything food related and we were fighting over some of the food we made following some of your videos.

Some of those things are not common to us as it could be for an US citizen because we are from another country (BR, like Guga) and our food is mostly influenced by European cuisine if we are talking about the Caucasian side of it.

It's very motivating to me to see someone succeed in their dreams both from a personal perspective and from a professional one (I'm a therapist). Keep up the good work!
