I think the fact that the babies understood what had happened after spike had fell over made this scene more heartbreaking

Honestly, I'd wish the parents would have saw this, so that they know what a special Dog Spike is...I mean, I know they see him like that, but how many dogs have you seen protect their children from a wild wolf? Sacrificed himself too. Even Angleica cried for him.

It's amazing to see Spike protect the ones he's loves and nearly sacrifice his life to fight off the wolf that was targeting the babies and Angelica. Such a loyal dog. Also, it's great to see Stu at his absolute best here by using Dactar to track and find the babies himself, only to crash land and encounter the babies, making them believe he's the lizard and ended up bringing back Spike after crashing through the bridge. Proving to everyone that he may not be a neglectful parent, but does show that he cares for his family and others.

Owning this movie back on VHS and watching growing up their were times you either got scared or cried and part of this scene made you cry especially for spike.

There was a day back when Twitter first started that everyone was watching this movie together (I think it had come on Nickelodeon). When this part came up everybody was cheering for Spike and calling him the realest dog in animation. It was one of my first big Twitter memories lol
