Scene from one of my favourite childhood films ‘The Rugrats Movie’ where Stu and Drew Pickles argue in the basement over Stu’s lifestyle, while Stu and Grandpa Lou are busy building his latest invention described as “The Perfect Children’s Toy” - The Reptar Wagon, for a toy design contest held by the Reptar Corporation in Japan to win $500.

“Pushy!” “Lazy!” “Bossy!” “Inconsiderate!” “Nosy!” “Good for nothing!” “Busybody!” “WHY CAN’T YOU LISTEN TO ME!”

They really captured the adult brothers dynamic. At least for me.

I still couldn't believe it was BUSTA RHYMES who voiced Reptar.

500$ is nothing, even in 1998. Drew was absolutely right.

As kids we agreed with Stu. As adults we agree with Drew

That shared look of disdain when the "In my day" speech start. Its like a sibling christmas truce.

Stu & Drew remind me of my brother because we fought all of the time and we never got along even to this very day. so seeing this scene makes me laugh my head off, good times... tiiiimmmes

Grandpa Pickles is right. Even me and my brother absolutely did have fun throwing rocks at each other. Trust me I remember getting the back of my head busted open by a rock like it was yesterday.

Good times

too bad we never got to see if the Reptar Wagon became popular in Japan after this movie. You'd think in "Rugrats Go to Paris" people would recognize Stu for his Reptar Wagon idea for the kids. oh well, a man can dream.

1:13 "I AM REPTAR HEAR ME ROAR"! To think rapper Busta Rhymes is the VOICE of the reptar wagon!! Sure did a great job!

The adults are the best thing about Rugrats, they’re weirdly relatable and I like their relationships.

A while ago someone made a “Rugrats without Rugrats” cut of the show, where they painstakingly went through the first 6 seasons and made an edit of each thats’s only the scenes/storylines related to the adults. It’s genuinely enjoyable.

This scene always makes me laugh so hard that I start crying, in a good way. It’s funny watching Stu and Drew fight with each other.

He may be going about it the wrong way and is being a bit pushy on the subject but Drew is only speaking out of concern for his brother and his family.

I totally agree with Drew in this scene. Dreams alone can't pay for the bills, groceries and insurance. Couldn't Stu get a part-time job at least?

"I am Reptar! Hear me roar!" The voice sounds like Mr. Gus from Uncle Grandpa!
