still no news about the render engine or multiprocessing. On that note maby it's time to add updates to shape layer system, tapered strokes? gradient sover stroke? anyone?

What have you done with all the modern necessities overdue for years now? Multi-CPU for instance? Without third party you'd be dead by now. Slowest development i've seen...by far.

Many great ideas there. Gues how many of those have been implemented since 2015? None.
So sad there is virtually no competition in the market for AE. Don't get me wrong, I love the software but the lack of competition means it just seems stuck in only providing the most minimal updates they can get away with. Again look at 3D software. Quite a lot of competition: Maxon, Autodesk, Houdini, Lightwave, Blender, Modo.... many vendors competing over features, leading to incredible progress every year again. What competition does AE have? Hitfilm?

I've been working in vfx and compositing for 15 years and you REALLY need to update your software.
Here are the fixes we need as compositors Adobe After Effects.
-3d Compositing improvements with Geometry we can move around and manipulate (for projections and other things)
-Node Based option for compositing (like fusion, nuke)
-FIX your camera projector! it is a such a mess right now! people have to do all these HACKs to get it to work
-Physically Based rendering improvements (GPU get with it)
-Create a BETTER 3D env to work in. Right now its SLOW. Not intuitive hard to move around.
- SMART Vector tools! Export out vector motion files as EXRS so we can composite stuff on cloths and faces with proper deformation
-A particle engine with physics
-EXR splitter and merger (BUILD A NODE BASED option)
I could keep going on and on but ill leave it at that for now.
I would love to sit down with your engineers and give them some ideas. Companies like Maxon listen to their users and apply the feedback, resulting in a better product and more loyalty from users. please do the same.

Not having multi processing on a graphics flagship program in 2018 is just unacceptable. Especially when it used to have it. Why would you shoot yourself in the foot like that? Absolutely ridiculous.

Is there a way to extend a comp without hitting Ctrl + K and entering the new timing manually?

I'm guessing "soon" and "fall release" is the usual obfuscation of "late october/early november?" Some time around adobe MAX MAYBE? As has been the case usually?

I just think it's needlessly vague of a timeframe. "Some time between now and new year"
