I was attacked yesterday in school while trying to get something that was stolen from me back. I was able to use this method. Thanks! Btw I am now on a 5 day suspension

A sweeping block could work, somewhat, if you stepped in with it, as demonstrated here, but in a fast and furious heat of the moment engagement your advice is sound. I’m decent sized, well above average strength and well above average trained, and for the average guy with either no training or a lot of training the technique you demonstrated here is simple and effective for defense. We will still take some contact, but we won’t take the full blunt force of a haymaker to the jaw.

I’ve taught this exact same thing to lots of people, including my own son. I live in the world of reality, which brings me to this last point…

Watch any good fighter in the world and they will do the same block you demonstrated here, many times over in a single match, whether it’s Muay Thai, boxing, or even MMA. Complete misses are always the best, but reality is we will get hit when fighting.

Good advice. Good video. Blessings to you and yours.

Definitely against someone that has never fought. I mean you throw your arm that high up. Your getting a hook to face and maybe back to the liver if you don’t get back into guard quick enough
