If your teacher explains situational awareness, you're in the right place.

Finally somebody that realizes that watching someone's eyes isn't how to defend in a fight

“ it looked like I was moving fast but I was not “
Gotta love the explanation and the humbleness.

Instructions unclear: still telling them I don't like their actions

Excellent technique for awareness “looking at center mass”, our eyes are better at seeing movements on the edges of our vision.

Self defense is 99.9% situation awareness. With the right mind you can dip quick or clip him quick. Always try to have your eyes locked on the silhouette. If the shoulders move, hips, legs, arms, you'll see it coming. Don't look into the eyes when someones in your face arguing, arm distance length and always create distance.

When you're expecting a sucker punch, it's not a sucker punch.

This was my favorite lesson to teach in wrestling, reading the opponents body movements to anticipate attacks and counter. These are those things you learn at 10, 000 hours.

It’s true that sucker punches are unexpected but the point is if someone is in ur personal space acting aggressive always be prepared. A lot of people aren’t and it can save you from a bad situation

Learned a lot in wrestling. It's chess with body movements, well before a move is decided. Switching stances, a side step, or mirroring when they're not on that level is OP. A whole different game.

Sucker punch can come from any angle, even behind. But I think you can really feel people's energy to prepare you to confront or avoid before a punch is thrown.
