Deepest dive in the world in one breath

On a single breath of air, Guillaume Néry explores the deepest pool in the world in Italy: Y40. The action is filmed on breath hold by his wife Julie Gautier.

Y-40 "The Deep Joy" pool first opened on 5 June 2014 and was designed by architect Emanuele Boaretto. It is 40 metres (131 ft) deep, making it the deepest pool in the world. It contains 4,300 cubic metres (1,136,000 US gal) of thermal water kept at a temperature of 32–34 °C (90–93 °F).

coming from someone who was a diver and swimmer for years, I can tell you this can be absolutely terrifying. holding your breath above water is nothing compared to under water. I rarely panicked when i would practice deep dives like this, until the one time i became too cocky and decided to go deeper. nothing can explain the horror of running out of breath and trying to swim to the top as fast as you can, and it only seems to get further away.

Wow. I’d never make it. I recently went to a pool that was 13 feet deep, and it was a lot harder than I thought to get to the bottom...I may could of went another couple feet down or so but wow this guy has some major skills.
